Château des Demoiselles constantly strives to strengthen the estate's biodiversity through its everyday actions.
The estate is certified High Environmental Value Level 3 (HVE3), Sustainable Winegrowing (Vignerons Engagés - CSR label) and Organic (AB).
Some of our vine plots are located in high-value ecological zones (ZNIEFF II) and Natura 2000 zones. Our winegrowers are committed to the protection of flora and fauna through the implementation of adapted technical itineraries, construction of animal habitats, etc.
Protected species
Our most-protected species include the common Pipistrelle (small bat) and Hermann tortoise.
We are also very aware of the importance of preserving the ecological corridors that run alongside our vine plots. Providing a natural habitat for many species, they offer shelter to insects, birds, mammals and reptiles and provide natural protection against pests.
Balancing our interests with those of nature
Bats, for example, play an important role in the fight against butterflies that damage our grapes with their larvae.
Balancing our interests and those of nature are a driving force for our everyday decisions, with many additional goals still to be met.
